The Kambala School Council is delighted to announce that Mr Shane Hogan, a highly experienced and respected educator and leader, will take on the role of Acting Principal for the remainder of 2017.
Shane commenced at Kambala this week in order to spend time with staff before students return for Term 2. He joins us from The Scots College where he has been the Director of School Improvement for the past two years. We thank Scots for releasing Shane for this important transitional role.
Shane is a former Principal of St Ignatius’ College, Riverview (2002 to 2013) and has also filled a similar role as Acting Principal for St Vincent’s College (2014), a boarding and day school for girls in Potts Point.
Shane is passionate about educating the whole person and providing a happy and safe environment for students, staff and the broader community.
“I believe that schools must be places that not only challenge students academically and spiritually, but must also be places where students feel safe, comfortable, cared for and accepted.”
“Children need to be happy to learn, so the school environment must be one that focuses on the welfare and happiness of its students.”
“For students to enjoy school, staff also need to feel appreciated and valued. Central to my educational philosophy is a genuine commitment to the wellbeing of all staff and students.”
Shane’s commitment to ensuring that Kambala will be a happy and productive place for staff and students will be evident as he consults with and listens widely to the School community.
