As part of our ongoing cultural and global awareness, Kambala participates in a High Schools Down Under tour of the main German cities in conjunction with Study in Australia - an Australian government department. Kambala receives an average of five German boarding students each year, which is not only an excellent opportunity for the European girls, but also a tremendous chance for our local students to meet and make friends with similar aged girls from another country and exchange ideas, fashions, music and study habits.
"It´s hard to describe all the experiences I had, because there were so many of them. Staying in the boarding house was great, the girls were really open and friendly and helped us to manage our life at Kambala. There was a feeling of community in the boarding house...
I still remember all of us sitting in the common room watching Neighbours or playing pool together. The various birthday parties or barbeques were much fun, too. Another thing I still love to remember is the Boarders' Review and the special dinners. Living in the boarding house was like living with many friends for half a year.
Attending school at Kambala was a great experience, too, because it was so different from going to school in Germany. The girls and teachers were all amazingly nice and helped us to settle in, in Australia. I made so many new friends at Kambala and I still appreciate the day girls taking us to their homes for one weekend or in the holidays. I loved palying touch and netball in the Kambala school teams, sports I had never heard of before.
The classes were interesting and it was a challenge for me to write exams in English.
To sum it up, I´ll always remember my time at Kambala and if I had the choice again I would decide to go to Kambala again."
