Kambala Old Girls' Union (KOGU)

Kambala Old Girls' Union was formed on 8th April, 1896 when Miss Louisa Gurney and Mademoiselle Augustine Soubeiran were the joint Principals of Kambala. The objects of the Union are to keep Old Girls in touch with Kambala and with one another, and to work for educational and charitable objects.

The Union provides the main source of current information for class reunions wherever, and whenever, they are held.

The Union donates to the School an annual Woodwind Scholarship and also provides several academic and sporting prizes annually. For many years, the Union has provided funds for the Dollies' Corner in Massie House, the Health Centre and equips the Archives Room.

The Infants' Home, Ashfield, has been supported by the Union and Old Girls since 1902.

Kambala Old Girls' Union is a strong supporter of all school activities. By its initiation of the Joyce Gibbons Public Speaking Competition, the Future Directions Evening, a careers symposium hosted by old girls in various career fields, and contests in sport and debating against the students, the Union gives a positive incentive to the present girls to continue their association with Kambala after they leave the School.
