The aims of the Kambala Foundation are to support and assist the School Council by encouraging the interest and financial support of past students and friends of the School for the benefit of the School. This is intended to provide long term financial independence for Kambala and to further develop Kambala’s outstanding facilities and educational environment.
Funds raised by the Foundation are applied for many diverse purposes including:
• the acquisition of books, equipment, buildings and facilities
• the development of new educational programs
• the employment of teaching staff with special skills
• scholarships
• extension of sporting and cultural programs
Fundraising is an essential activity requiring parental involvement to support the existence and future of the School. The future development of the School relies largely on monies raised through the contributions to the Building Fund.
The Foundation is managed by a Board of Directors which acts in consultation with the Principal and the School Council. The Board comprises members who have contributed to the Foundation together with former official members including the Principal, the President of the School Council and representatives from the Kambala Parents’ Association and the Kambala Old Girls’ Union.
The School Council and the Principal are responsible for the strategic vision of the School and together with the Foundation, aim to develop the diverse and special talents and generosity of the School community for the long term benefit of the School.
Re-opening of the Playfair Pool
Thanks to the generosity of the Kambala community, the Playfair Pool, originally opened in 1972, has received a wonderful facelift. Kambala was honoured to have the Playfair family in attendance on September 1st 2005, when Mrs White welcomed guests and Ms Judy Playfair, ex-Olympian, old girl and daughter of the original benefactors, to officially open the venue.
